# Rate limits

> Per-tier rate limits and quotas.

API requests are rate limited per plan. Exceeding your limit returns **429**
with a `Retry-After` header indicating how long to wait.

| Tier    | Rate limit | Notes                      |
| ------- | ---------- | -------------------------- |
| Free    | 1 req/sec  | Search and historical      |
| Pro     | 10 req/sec | Adds whale tracking        |
| Builder | 25 req/sec | Adds arbitrage and spreads |
| Trader  | 50 req/sec | Highest retail limits      |

Exact quotas may change — check your account dashboard for the live allowance
on your key.
